JoLt 2018 : The Journey of a Lifetime is about to Begin

The next trip will depart on July 14th 2018. This year we are travelling from the Peru to the Galapagos Islands with 18 amazing young people and 6 leaders.

Our month long trip will take us from Iquitos in the north of Peru along tributaries of the Amazon, through tropical rainforests and tribal villages; climbing in altitude to Quito in Ecuador, where we will stay with a local community, before trekking through mountain trails and searching for waterfalls, and camping on the flanks of Cotopaxi Volcano. After climbing towards the glaciers, we descend to the Pacific Coast to sail in search of whales, and take part in a marine project tagging turtles and surveying sharks.

Our final leg includes an exploration of the Galapagos Islands, experiencing prehistoric life, and snorkelling with sea lions, turtles and rays. We will journey by road, foot, dugout canoe, local boat, and four wheel drive to explore the majestic environment and culture of these areas.

If you would like to follow our trip, we will be updating our diary, complete with photos whilst we are away. Our Jolt 2018 – Trip Diary can be found here.

The team also carry a satellite tracker with them and you can follow their progress by clicking here.
